Tech Mahindra (Noida) – Walk-in Drive (25 July 2009 & 26 July 2009)
Required Technical Skills:
• Unix Scripting – Shell, Perl, awk, Java Script, K-shell
• Any of the following additional skills are required :-
• Java with the knowledge of webservers
• C/C++
• Oracle 10g/9i with PL/SQL
• Knowledge desirable in mainframe and FTP/Connect direct
• Web based apps
• Knowledge of middleware
Required Behavioral Skills:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Flexibility at work in terms of 24×7 operations
• Ability to grasp application knowledge quickly
• Work in a dedicated sincere and pro-active manner
Application Support requires basic to advance skill in the specified technologies. Roles and responsibilities will be aligned based on experience and knowledge level. Major roles and responsibilities are :
• Monitor pre-defined batch schedules 24×7 for exceptions and react(fix/escalate/inform)
• Incident and problem Management. Monitor ticket queues, including tickets generated from alarms.
• Change Management
• Service Level Management
• Troubleshoot application problems by following run books and modifications in job scheduling or Unix scripts
• Participate/initiate P1/outage calls. Drive application recovery efforts for all impacting outages, including post outage reviews and improvement plans
• Interface, with different workgroups including Tier2, support groups, development, operational element SMEs, System Administrators to troubleshoot and resolve application issues
• Manage application startup/checklist tasks, log files, queues, transactions for exceptions and react (fix/escalate/inform)
• Monitor successful completion of application and DB backups
• Execute daily monitoring scripts
